A garden Upgrade

We started with a sublime 15 year old garden designed by BattersbyHowat. Our job was to respectively and thoughtfully upgrade the landscape by first accommodating the clients sculpture collection all while integrating the "new" design with the "pre-existing" jewel. By understanding the "design language" of the garden and by retaining all the large trees, site lines and grading, we gently revised the understory planting, added to and expanded on existing courtyards, walkways, fencing, entry gates and steps, positioned the sculptures into the new courtyards, and finally topped everything off with new landscape lighting. We hope the result is a garden that reflects and respects the pre-existing masterpiece.
